Your subconscious mind could be your best (or the worst) partner

What kind of person are you?


Are you the kind of person that when you are walking toward somewhere you choose to walk on the side of the road with the sun or the one with the shadow?


It might sound a little weird question. I have noticed today while I was walking toward the station to meet a friend of mine, I looked at the road and I went to walk on the sunny side of the road.

I did it unconsciously.


It made me realise how much I need sun. In a city like London you get about 2/3 weeks of sun a year, the rest of the time is pretty grey. When I say grey I really mean it. It affects me so much. It affects my mood and my soul any time I see outside the window and I see grey.


Instead, I can start my day quite differently, totally POSITIVE when I see the sun, everything is much brighter. I know I am looking for sun, it is my daily task, I crave sun, my entire holidays are always those kind of holidays you stay on the beach in a sunny place of the world.


My conscious research of sun takes me toward the sun and it is a big part of my life. So, when I was walking this morning, my SUBCONSCIOUS told me to go the side of the road it was sunny even though it was the longest way (1 min more) to the station. I was in ‘automatic mood’.


Funny thing the subconscious mind.


I want to talk about the subconscious mind and how to help it to get the best out of it. In few words; YOU CAN CONTROL WHERE YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS GOES JUST SIMPLY CREATING HABITS CONSCIOUSLY.


Why do you need the subconscious mind going in the same direction of your goal?


Because it is simply much more easy to accomplish your goals when you have the subconscious mind on your side.


When I first read Think and grow rich there is a part of the book it tells you to write a statement with your goals in life and what you want to do to achieve them. It tells you to read it out loud in the morning when you begin the day and in the end of the day just before going to sleep.


This helps the subconscious mind to work towards those goals. When your subconscious mind is serving you, you see a total different reality from the one that many people live. If you want to be successful but your subconscious mind tells you you will never be, you will never be.


Why?


Because when you look at the world, you will never find success, probably your attention will be caught by the ones they cannot achieve success. The key is to understand that when you work with both conscious and subconscious mind toward a specific goal you are fully committed to it.


The subconscious mind is the responsible for inspiration


Think about it, when is it that you get inspiration?

Maybe you are in the oddest place of this world, maybe you are in the toilet, maybe you are walking toward work, maybe you are in savasana after 1 hour of yoga.


Those are the moments that, actually, you are not consciously working on your aim. Another way to achieve a subconscious mind that works toward your objectives is practicing mindfulness. Mindfulness helps you to achieve it simply because it keeps you there, anchored to the present and makes you more aware of yourself.


Being in the present helps you to realise more about yourself, even where your subconscious mind is switched off.


Simple breathing exercise and yoga for example, they could both help you practicing mindfulness.


What are your values?


When it comes to help your subconscious mind you can also take a moment for yourself and writing down your values. When I say values I mean the deepest values that reflects you.


Write them down with honesty, only trough honesty you can really have a life that reflect your true you. It may take a while before finding them.


Once you have them, YOU CAN WRITE DOWN YOUR GOALS ACCORDING TO YOUR VALUES. Write down your goals and make a copy to keep next to you all the time, you can read it on and on during the day and make it something you commit to it until your subconscious mind will help you in achieving them.


This is not magic. It is the way the mind works and there are tons of studies about that.


More can be done to help to work with your subconscious mind, especially to make it a friend and not an enemy.

It is an essential part of you and sometimes it will tell you more than you think.


My advice is


Most of the time you will find yourself unwrapping mechanisms you did not even realised they were with you an entire life and they were guided by the subconscious mind.

Once you recognised the ones they are not helping you in achieving your goals do not stop there, GO DEEP AND FIND THE REASON WHY you have that mechanism in place.


The subconscious works accordingly with yourself and it does not lie, it’s true. Understanding what goes on inside you is quite important as only knowing yourself you can build the base for a happy and successful life. From today you can begin to practice and help your subconscious mind to be your strongest ally.
